Venous Duplex Ultrasound of the Lower Extremities is a non-invasive ultrasound method used to assess the functional and anatomical status of the vascular system.

This examination combines B-mode imaging with Doppler mode, allowing physicians to evaluate blood flow velocity, direction, and structural changes in real time.

In the case of the lower extremities, the examination evaluates both the arterial and venous systems. This information is particularly important for the management of both chronic and acute conditions and for the prevention of complications.

The accuracy and high diagnostic capability of this examination enable physicians to evaluate vascular function, detect pathological processes at an early stage, and develop appropriate treatment strategies.

Duplex scanning of the vessels of the lower extremities is performed for patients who are at risk of peripheral arterial disease, venous thrombosis, or aneurysms. Accordingly, the examination represents an essential part of modern vascular diagnostics, supporting clinical decision-making and contributing to the effective management of the patient’s health condition
