Cervical Spine X-ray Examination without Contrast (1 projection) is one of the primary diagnostic tools used for the initial assessment of the bony structure of the upper spinal segment - the cervical spine.

An image obtained in a single projection evaluates the general configuration, alignment, and structural integrity of the cervical vertebrae. The scan enables monitoring of the cervical spine and helps identify deformities, injuries, or other pathological abnormalities.

The examination includes an assessment of the size and shape of individual vertebrae, as well as the intervertebral spaces. Special attention is given to vertebral symmetry and the physiological curvature of the cervical spine; distances between vertebrae and their alignment are also evaluated.

A single-projection scan provides a general overview of the cervical spine’s anatomy and is often performed at the initial stage of treatment. Although the visual perspective is limited due to the singular view, the obtained information is typically sufficient to assess the anatomical characteristics of the cervical bony structures.
