Skull X-ray Examination (1 projection) is a standard diagnostic procedure that provides visualization of the bony structures of the skull.

An image obtained through a single projection reflects the general contour of the skull, the compatibility of internal and external surfaces, and the spatial relationships between the cranial bones.

The purpose of the examination is to assess bone density, shape, and integrity. The image reveals the location and structure of the frontal, occipital, temporal, and parietal bones. It also shows sutures, fusion lines, and anatomical compatibility.

The information gained from one projection provides a general overview of the skull’s structure and is often sufficient at the initial stage of treatment. The visible details in the image form the basis for evaluating anatomical characteristics, proportions, and structural features.

Although in modern clinical settings, computed tomography (CT) is often preferred, Skull X-ray Examination (1 projection) remains an effective method for the initial assessment of bony structures, especially in emergency situations.
